Abseiling is the opposite of rock climbing. It is an important skill used by climbers, cavers, military, police, rescue teams and many others. In climbing, abseiling is done to reach the bottom of a climb either before climbing it (when climbing on a sea cliff for example) or after climbing it (where it's not possible to walk down from the top).

Whether you've never abseiled before, or you're an experienced mountaineer looking to brush up on your skills, we can help.

The following venues are suitable for novices to abseil:

  • Nesscliffe -- multiple places to abseil -- up to 30m High -- The perfect place to have a go at abseiling.

  • Llanymynech -- Black wall suitable for abseiling (when birds aren't nesting) -- 40m High -- Climbing also an option at this venue.

  • Grinshill -- One small abseil wall -- 10m -- ideal for anxious participants or those learning advanced abseil skills.
